CompuCycle is a Houston based, family owned corporation established in 1996 as a complementary service to Complex Metals, Inc. (CMI), a scrap computer processing company. Today CompuCycle has evolved as a hybrid organization, offering clients not only recycling, but also complete end-of-life computer asset management. We recognize that computer assets depreciate at an alarming rate, so with this in mind, we are dedicated to eliminating risk and maximizing the return on the value of computer assets.

Management
John Hess, President
Since founding CompuCycle in 1996, John Hess has led the privately held company in its evolution from an electronic scrap processing business to what is today a full-service “e-waste” recycling operation. Hess has driven the company’s mission, which is to be the premier provider of corporate recycling programs in the most environmentally responsible and cost-effective manner. Prior to starting CompuCycle, Hess managed various non-ferrous metal smelting facilities in the U.S. and in South Africa. Hess is a director of several companies and has been actively engaged in the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) since 1977.

Clive Hess, Commercial Vice President
As Commercial Vice President, Clive Hess is responsible for ensuring environmentally responsible end-of-life management for approximately six million pounds of potentially harmful e-waste materials. In addition, he negotiates end-of-life electronic asset management contracts with corporations and leasing companies and handles the sales contracts for the reuse of re-certified/refurbished electronic products. A 1992 graduate of the University of Houston, Hess serves on the Executive Committee of the Electronic Resource Recovery Council, where he participated in developing the organization’s “Best Management Practices for Procurement, Use and Disposition of Electronics.”

Lawrence Barris, Vice President, Procurement
Lawrence Barris has been with CompuCycle since early 2001. Initially in the capacity as Production chief since mid-2003, Lawrence has since moved into the commercial arena involving corporate asset management and disposal. This function involves close interaction with senior IT Management on a regular basis and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations connected to our industry.
Lawrence immigrated to the United States in 1984, having always been involved in commerce. His experience includes principal status in businesses including confectionery, air-conditioning and industrial chemical blending all prior to CompuCycle.

Denia Mejia, Procurement Manager
Denia Mejia joined the CompuCycle team in April 2009 to regularly meet with clients in need of safe and secure disposal of retired electronics. Prior to coming to CompuCycle, Denia served as a Buyer for a local distributor of Central American food. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Houston. On her spare time, Denia enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Tamara Di Giulio, Sales Manager
Tamara Di Giulio has found homes for refurbished electronics for over 13 years, progressing from Account Executive to Sales Manager at CDI Computer Dealers Inc., before joining CompuCycle. Prior to selling, Tamara honed her outstanding support skills working as a Customer Service Representative for Allstate. She maintains excellent relationships with educational institutions, corporations, and distributors. She loves to travel and enjoys the array of Mexican food that Houston has to offer.

Valerie Paizis, Sales Executive
Valerie Paizis is a Sales Executive and has been with CompuCycle for eight years. Moving from procurement to sales, Valerie has an understanding of every angle of CompuCycle’s operation. She works closely with corporate clients, resellers, and deftly manages our Employee Buy-Back Program. Speaking with her, you may notice her South African accent and warm character. Kevin Timmreck, Sales Executive
Kevin has spent most of his career within the technology industry, serving several years as an IT Director for Investools Inc. With CompuCycle, Kevin oversees a wide range of customers from educational to corporate clients, helping them solve their IT issues with a real insider’s perspective. He's brought a wealth of ideas to CompuCycle, having led the way in establishing our now robust partnership with educational institutions.
