Used Cell Phone Recycling Program

Approximately 130 million cell phones are discarded annually in the U.S. This equates to roughly 65,000 tons of potentially toxic waste.

CompuCycle offers a responsible collection program for the removal of cell phones, PDAs and peripheral devices. All non-reusable product is recycled in an environmentally responsible manner, in accordance with federal guidelines.

All re-useable cell phones are donated to charities chosen by the client or our default beneficiary charity,Houston Area Women’s Center.

CompuCycle recognizes that many cell phones are privately owned and not property of its corporate clients, so we’ve designed the program to appeal to both businesses and their employees.

Donations/recycling receptacles (as per the illustration) are placed in strategically-designated areas, and the contents are collected. The flow chart above illustrates the process.
