At CompuCycle, we’re not only extremely grateful for our clients, but proud of the work they do for the environment by choosing an R2 Certified recycler. Occasionally, we’ll share a quick client snapshot with you about the work we do together.
Today, we’d like to highlight a client that we’ve been working with since January of this year, Houston Community College System. Houston Community College is one of the largest institutions of higher education in the US, with more than 70,000 students attending each semester. Did you know that HCC has more international students enrolled than any other community college in the country? That’s right, 8% of their students are from other countries!
Our work with HCC includes the following end-of-life computer asset management services:
- Secure Data Removal and Destruction: All hard drives are erased using Department of Defense compliant hard drive data erasure software. Drives that fail the erasure process are shredded.
- Onsite packaging and collection of assets: With just one phone call from Transocean, we are able to provide prompt and cost effective collection and transportation of materials nationwide.
- Audit reporting and asset tracking: Our computer controlled tracking system monitors each item through the inventory, recycling and destruction processes. These processes are approved, controlled and audited.
- Compliant Electronic Recycling: We adhere to the Responsible Recycling R2 Practices. Our “No Landfill, No Exceptions” policy along with our downstream controls meet or exceed all applicable legislation and EPA standards.
- Asset Purchase, Refurbishing and Re-marketing: We pay maximum value for all assets that are suitable for refurbishing and re-marketing.
